2023 Annual Mid-Ohio Meet / Ohio State Checker Tournament
Friday & Saturday, August 18th and August 19th  2023

Richard Beckwith and Crist Miller will combine both the Ohio State Tournament with the popular Amish Checker Meet. The tournament will be held in the large building on the right side of Crist & Rosanna Miller's home at 10250 S. Kansas Road, Fredericksburg, Ohio 44627 (Scenic Valley Supply LLC) map, on Friday & Saturday, August 18th and 19th.  Donation / entry fee is $30. Note that Friday's start time is moved up to 7:00 am for Registration, with play proceeding at 8:00 am this year, continuing into Saturday. This year we play 3-Move. We will play 8 total rounds of Swiss with 5 rounds Friday and 3 rounds Saturday, with play starting at 8:00 am on Saturday. Masters playing Masters will use clocks to keep rounds from exceeding 2 hours. Snacks & drinks provided, with free breakfast and lunch on Saturday. High finisher will be recognized as Ohio State Champion and wins a donated craft item. There is a new Sleep Inn hotel in Mt. With five well-known Master Players competing, this year’s Ohio tournament was extra competitive, and we had a tie at the top through 6 rounds. Congratulations to Alex Moiseyev, who has won this state title every year that it was played since 2003 (and Alex also won this tournament three additional times prior as a PA resident). Tournament was 8 rounds, and Masters used clocks (55 minutes + 10 second for TWO games). We also welcome newcomer Leon Barrick.

$1,090 in prizes were awarded. Special thanks to our donors Joe McDaniel ($1,000), Rich Beckwith ($20), Alan Millhone ($20), Aden and Abe Keim ($20 each from 2022 prize), Eli Raber ($10), and to hosts Crist & Rosanna Miller who arranged great food for the players.
